We have a Zanussi Zuf 1056 auto defrost upright freezer that is now three years old. It has just started making a loud noise that appears to be a fan cutting in. This stops when you open the door but starts again when the door is closed. Please can you let me know what the problem is and how to fix it?

turn it off for 24 hrs and manually defrost it.leave the door open to help speed the defrosting time.If ice builds up in the back it catches on the circulation fan in the back which stops when you open the door.if after a defrost it goes back to the fan catching in a few wks you have a defrost issue or sensor issue
