Why are glasses coming out white after salt has been added?

Glasses are coming out with a white film on them after adding salt. Even after repeated washes and rinses the white film does not disappear

It's called hazing - look up Dishwasher Wikipedia and read about it - all dishwashers and glassware are prone to it over repeated washes.

could be a faulty water softner (the bit you put the salt in).stop using salt and use multitab wash tablets and see if you get better wash results.
