Engineer code?

We are having an extension done at the moment. Our builder needs to have access to the engineer code of our Accenta Compact alarm ( 6 zones plus PA and tamper). The alarm was installed about 10 years ago.
All we know is that the code can be anything between 0000 and 9999.
What shall we do?

I have an accenta 8 and accenta 4 alarm boxes. The engineers access code is 9999 in both cases. Hope this will be the same for yours.

The code is normally 9999. If this fails you have to clear the memory and set up all over again! Do this by removing power front cover and battery. Remove any cables from terminals 13 & 23 and then link these 2 terminals together. Put power back on for 10 secs and then power down. Re-connect terminals as found after removing link! Now re-engineer as required!

PS.

I don't know your panel so this is guess work.

Enter a another code for the builder, then delete it when he is done.

If you have to give him your code change it to a new one when he is done.

Question - why your BUILDER needs access to the Engineer Code, HE DOES NOT?

If a tamper is caused by anything he does, YOUR code will stop the noise, if that is what you are worried about.

If the alarm makes a noise when you turn off the mains supply, you need a NEW BATTERY.

Batts. should be replaced at a MAXIMUM of 5Yrs, I bet you are still on the original.
