renault megane?

Opinions on the following appretiated before he wastes money on what I think is over priced very worn out vehicle.
It's a 2005 Renault Megane 1.9 diesel. 99,300 on clock only part service history. I'm trying to convince my son not to buy as the mileage for year is way too high at 19,800 per year, and my thoughts it may have been owned by a small company and may have even been clocked. How can I find out if the mileage on the clock display is genuine.

I would'nt say the mileage is all that excessive 60 miles a day, the thing that would put me off it was the lack of a full service history and it's a Renault, just search on this forum to find out how often the problem is with a Renault, the dash displays fail and cost around £500 the body control computer £500 + having it re-programmed by a dealer!! when was the last cambelt change as a failure will result in a bill into the £0000's if not a new engine!!!

Unless it is really cheap and came with at least 12 months warranty, I would walk/run away from it!!
