Looking for Cookshop Halogen Oven replacement heating element?

Anyone owns a large 11L Cookshop Halogen Oven that has a hinged lid? Mine has broken down and I need to look for a replacement heating element (ringed halogen bulb). Help!

There is a video on youtube that shows the halogen bulb being removed, and shows the left hand thread nut removal too

You can obtain any halogen oven lamp from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com for any type of Halogen oven.

My cookshop halogen oven has just stopped working
2 weeks out of the 1yr warranty!!! Now decided to
purchase another brand, with a 2yr warranty+replacement bulb, as can't be without one, use it most days

wish i had of seen this thread and pauls answer, before i had a go at mine. the last thing i expected was for the nut to undo clockwise. After getting past it, realised didn't need to, each variety has different connector, so i just cut leads, then soldered them together, covered with insulation tape and put it all back together. The circular element can be unclipped at 3 points and re-clipped if 6" diameter. if its shorter the clips can be turned around to fit smaller element..

Are you sure that it is not the thermostat? I have had a JML and Cookshop halogen ovens both of which had the thermostat fail. If this happens the element will not light. Also the nut on the fan is left-hand thread.

When it works, the Cookshop Halogen oven is brilliant but ours too lasted only about 17 months. As others have reported here, the element is impossible to replace. We couldn't get past removing the fan as the nut was impossible to undo. This large piece of kit - still in very good condition except for the bulb, is going to the tip which is a terrible waste.

Do yourself the biggest favour don't buy one of these !!! Mine lasted 13 months before the timer packed, up totally ruining an expensive beef joint and now 2 weeks later the halogen bulb has burned out ! The oven vibrated and rattled every time it was used, the 'non-stick'dish peeled after 2 months and the fan housing went rusty. If you manage 12 months trouble free you've done well, after that be prepared to throw it. . . don't even think about trying to replace the halogen bulb , it's a nightmare, I've ended up with a £60 salad bowl !! Cookshop need to sort their quality control and durability and also spare parts much easier to obtain and the unit more service friendly. I've now replaced it with a combi microwave oven which does everything and has a 3 year no quibble guarantee. The halogen oven concept is good ,but in practice it needs a lot more thought and research. See if you can find anyone who has used one daily for more than a couple of years without problems !

Hi All

I have the JML version of this and the element has blown. The quaestion I have is how to remove it?

I'm finding it impossible to remove the small holding nut for the small fan - the fan is stopping me lifting the plate off and getting to the halogen bulb connections.

Unless I'm going in totally the wrong direction of course...

How have you guys/gals removed your lamps?

Many Thanks

Mark

people be aware,i posted a blog here not long ago saying natural heating were very helpful, they were but have given me the wrong info in the supplying a element for my cook shop halogen oven, they assured me even though, the element is slightly bigger, and a bigger wattage,it would be OK,i now beg to differ, also they wont reimburse you,due to small print,as no refunds are given on heating elements, iv recently purchased an element from, Wolf Halogen Ovens, and its the right one an wattage, part num 100149.tel num

BERNIE B, November 2010
mine too, how have you got on?

elaine, November 2010
I recently replaced mine, had major difficulty finding the element.
If you type wolf halogen oven into google, on their page they have them for sale £11.99 incl vat. They are the same size and power rating and best of all they work.
Suggest you order two, I have two ovens bought at the same time and both went within a month of each other.
Make sure its not your transformer thats packed up, it is also in the lid area.
