lawn mower?

I have a john deere L120 6 years old, serviced every year. now after about 1/2 hour will not climb any small hills and goes very slow, told its the trans axile has done only 316 hours. is this norm for john deere's. should i have it fixed or trade in..

Trans should be good for 2000 hours +. Most likely the drive belt is slipping, possibly due to the clutch pulleys getting caught up on something and not applying full tension to the belt. Had this happen of at least 4 JD tractors.
