How can I remove the blade from my Mountfield Petrol Mowere to clean it
T Wheeler, May 2010
Before following these instructions, check if it's OK to tip the mower onto its side. My mower (a Mountfield HP414) has a prominent sticker warning against tipping the mower sideways.

Remove engine oil

Tip mower on side with the exhaust side down.

Remove plug lead

Obtain 14mm socket or spanner.

If you don't have a blade locking tool, put on a hefty pair of boots. Squat down and place right boot to the right side of the blade (with the blade in the 6.00 o'clock position)

Place socket or spanner to blade bolt head and turn anti-clockwise.

Remove blade

Replacement is a reversal of the removal sequence.

(dont forget to refill the oil)
