My refrigerator donot turn off?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have a kelvinator refrigerator KAV 400. A few days ago strange thing happens. The power doesn’t go off, it works continually. The cooling system seems ok. I was forced to pull the plug from the wall and put it back after, to give the compressor some rest.

What do you think the problem is? Is any part of the fridge malfunctioning? Plese give your best advice on how to fix it.

Thank you for all your efforts in advance.

Hi ! Lincoln Appliance NZ,

Thank you for your information.

Is the thermostat and the sensor one part or differnt parts? Can you please tell me where I could locate it and how I could test for malfunction?

Not familiar with this make & model but it must have either a thermostat or a temperature sensor connected to a control board. Either of these will monitor the temperature and will decide when to stop the compressor when it is cold enough. It sounds like the thermostat or the sensor is faulty.
