speedfight 50lc revs to high before moving?

hi iv got an 04 50lc speedfight with a racing clutch a leovinchi exhaust and POLINI PERFORMANCE VARIATOR and the main jet in the carb is an 80 the bike will only go 43mph and when i go to pull away the bike revs high before it starts to move is this how its ment to be with the racing clutch as iv never had one of these bikes before . what do you think is best for me to make the bike go faster hope someone can help me with this

Hi mate ive changed the rollers just put some other ones in i had not sure of the weight but the bike nw does about 55mph it still seems to rev a bit before it pulls away not sure if thats how they are ment to be also does it make any different if the rolers have a flat spot ??? , where is the best place to buy the 6gm rollers cheers .

hi adam thanks for your help ill get some rollers asap this bike has been nothing but hassel but its getting there now it starts on the button and looks good im trying to get it done for my boys 16th birthday which is saturday as he has his cbt then aswell so what sort of spped should the bike do it got a polini clutch a compotion variator ans a leo vinchi exhaust its been up jetted but im not sure what size jet it should have iv got a delorto 19 carb would it be better to put that on do you think

lol,it would usually go quicker than that if it was a standard bike that had just been de restricted they will usually do 50mph flat out.... sooooo i would say that the rollers are too light for it especially as you say it revs its head off before it pulls away.the rollers have to be a sufficient weight in order to throw the variator halves together and push the belt out enough to gear it fully up which by the way also pulls the belt into the middle of the clutch pulley.so if the weight isnt enough then it wont do it as it wont have enough centrifugal force.i would take the rollers out and fit some 6 or 7 gram rollers in it and see what the top end is then, remember you can mix and match them with you old ones that are more then likely 4 gram or similar.so for instance try 3 new 7 gram rollers and 3 of your old ones or different variations until you get a combination of decent acceleration and good top end.sorry for the late reply i have been busy attempting to sort out my own bike shop.
