I found ball bearings under my ford transit, And now I have no steering? ?

I have had a bit of noise on tick over from my ford transit, thinking it was something to do with the power steering pump. I jumped in it to take it to the garage but now I have no steering! I have found some ball bearings under the van?? What's going on now? Any ideas please?

Look at end of camshaft, there is a cover over a small fan belt, this fan belt drives P.A.S pump and water pump also I think, there is an automatic belt adjuster there which has a bearing, these are bad for breaking up,maybe these are the bearings you are seeing.Done one of these last week, you cant get an individual bearing, must take the whole adjuster, from Ford for new belt and adjuster £136.00.Think a motor factors would be a bit cheaper, maybe a scrappy would be worth a go too,not bad to do,small socket set,10mm & 8mm sockets and 1/4 drive socket bar for the adjuster, good luck
