Help with my Aqualisa Quartz pumped shower working intermittently?

Sorry forgot to mention the make
My Quartz Electro-Thermostatic shower with pumped processor has started to play up after 5 years of trouble free showering. When I press the switch it runs for a few seconds and then goes off. This will happen a few times and then usually will then run ok. Any ideas as to what could be wrong as I feel that eventually it will stop running altogether.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions for my Aqualisa shower. We bought a new controller, and were very optomistic. As you said, j taylor, very simple to fit , but unfortunately hasn't solved the problem. I think we're now having to go down the road of a new processor with that 'expensive plumber'.

Mine did the same - bought the new front bit see http://www.aqualisa.co.uk/parts-store/Controls/Quartz-Digital-exposed-thermostatic-power-shower/Standard-Controllers/
(after turning off electricity). About £60. Unscrew the screw at the bottom, take out jack/USB thingy, connect jack to new part, screw in and turn on the electricity. It worked! I am no handyman and it was pretty easy and no expensive plumber

Hi it could be the check valves blocked which are in the inlet side ( isolate the water and undo the hot and cold inlet - inside there will be a little white valve - you should be able to blow one way but not the other ) check these are ok - but my first guess would be the processor unit as they do play up now and again - you could speak to Aquilisa ref 5 year guaratee

My triton Power shower stopped working, we took the cover off and cleaned the black carbon off the brushes. It's working but not as it was. We're going to fit new brushes as a last attempt. Good luck.
