noise from dc04?

i have just put a new fan belt on dc04 and the hoover is now making a horrendous noise that it wasn't making before,please help

Dysonmedic.com has pictures showing how to change a DC04 belt - the text stresses at least twice to check that the belt is not jammed against the "lugs" on reassembly.

Perhaps you have this issue...
