97 bmw 318i keeps overheating?

alternater belt snapped, tore all the pipes to and from raditor apart, and lots of smoke had belts, water pump, and pipes replaced but keeps overheating have tried to let air out of raditor with the screw release

Almost certainly a faulty thermostat. Cheap and easy to replace...
