shaun, the crank will take a 70 kit ok and the oil pump will cope, a good cheapo kit is the athena which you can get from ve there are cheaper chinese versions but there crap. i definetely think your head gasket has gone on your current engine, as the lc versions of speedfight were normally always very good! a company in liverpool called grampions does the big bore kits and are not bad, they are mitaka, and a pretty good quality. their contact number is 0151 931 5009 they have all gaskets available etc,

cheers for your help on this

wait until the bike is cold then take off the header tank cap and then start it and get it warm and look for bubbles coming up uinto the header tank.if it does then its definately going to be as m says the head gasket.theres niot alot of reasons that can make it run hot.either head gasket letting burnt fuel/air into the waterjacket or lack of lubrication or lack of coolant or circulation due to a malfunctioning thermostat/waterpump or a blockage of some type.

sorry mate was thinkin of a runner 50 then, i would still do the head gasket though any excessive smoke etc???

hi mate it dosent have a fan on the bike the rads at the front i think its just the air that keeps the rad cool aint it

shaun, May 2010
sounds like your head gasket has gone change it its really easy and it comes in 2 pieces, also make sure the fan works
