if i have it pluged in for diagnostics and reset my ecu will this fix my steering problem as ive tried taking the battery lead off but only works for a while

i have the same problem my power steering is intermittant have read on other sites could be the electric motor,could also be the alternator causing the problem, im possibly going to take out the motor just two bolts holding in and maybe chang that, if you google fiat power steering problems you will see it is a common fault with so many different solutins and costs .
