how do I fix the fuel line on a Mcculloch Chainsaw 3200?

I had to buy a primer bulb, cuz it was rotted out. The new onecame with a blue hose and a longer white hose. Where did I go wrong? I connected the blue hose to the carb nipple under the choke level to the short nipple in the primer bulbe. I connected the longer nipple on the primer button to the top hole in the fuel tank. Then I connected the bigger nipple on the carb to the bottom hole in the fuel tank ...did I do this right. Now..are the holes in the tank supposed to have other nipples in or is the longer hose suppose to go into the tank....???? HELP !!! Gas is leaking

If you have done it correctly you should see fuel being pulled from the carb, into the bulb and back into the tank, not pushing fuel into the carb, this will cause flooding
