Remove cover of Model DLC-8F Cuisinart Food Processor?

I believe that I have a simple switch failure in this appliance; however, the main cover is safety mounted in a way that has flummoxed my attempts to get it off. Any suggestions?

The part of the motor shaft you can see is the "Motor Shaft Cover" which is no longer available from Cuisinart. Has anyone thought of commissioning a machine shop to make some of these?

My DLC-8 has screws under the outside ->rear corners of the front foot pads and under the outside rear corners of the rear front pads, all deep in tubes. No need to remove the pads, just flex them up in the corners. The bottom comes off then. My switch wouldn't come out without removing the motor, due to lack of clearance. There are screws under 4 covers on top around the motor shaft, and the shaft cover slides up with persistent gentle prying all around, allowing the motor to be loosened so the switch assembly can be removed. My switch levers were stuck due to congealed 20 year old white grease and the slides were slightly bent from excess force on the buttons. Staightening, cleaning, and re-lubricating the slide rods fixed mine. Be sure to lubricate the wedge where the button pushes the slide bars sideways.

I am used to looking under the pads, but this was tricky because I first only looked on the front of the front feet. Took me longer than I want to admit to get it apart.
