If you can finish the sale normally, but the drawer won't open, then it may be one of the models that had a design fault. The drawer wiring was routed incorrectly on some of them. Take the drawer tray out and look inside. You should be able to see two white wires coming down in the back of the drawer. If one of them has a tiny cut in it, then you have one of the faulty ones. Take it back to the Sharp dealer and ask them to repair it under the product recall.
