My remote key is not opening my car but the light inside the key is flashing. I know from past experience that if I get in using the key in the door lock and get in the alarm will set off and I am not able to turn off. Does antyone have any idea about how I go about getting into my car. It is an S reg Mercedes A class and I do not have a red key to turn off the alarm plus i have no idea where the alarm is.

my A class did the same, you have to take the key in to mercedes and they can test it to see if its sending a signal. they told me the key sent an infra-red and a radio signal to the car (think thats what they said anyway) and the part that was bust on mine couldnt be fixed..... £160 and two weeks later i had a new key :( you also need to take ID and your V5 to get a new key

have you tried changing the battery in the key?
