clutch pedal low to floor hard to select gears ?

i bought a rover 45 diesel ixl year 51 plate 61,000mls ,from evans halshaw peugeot dealers on friday night when Driving home clutch pedal got lower and harder to select gear making noises when changing .told dealer nxt day they collected on monday had veh til next friday, they had not called me. So i called them on thursday, did not tell what was wrong with veh or when it would be fixed just said ordered part. by friday after keep being told will call me back went to dealers now say its normal for rovers cant find any problems (what do i expext for a run around veh altough when selling it to me said it would be great for doing the distance driving i needed it for) .They agree pedal low & say that have had a mechanic who dealt with rovers in past says it's normal although did order servo but found have to replace whole thing so couldnt fit it, told us to take it home but if feel its to bad to bring it back, i have owned various rovers from new to old & this doesn't feel right any ideas or are they right. (My other car 1998 dl rover changes gears a lot easier & clutch is high), although fixed imobilisor fault i didn't evan know i had.
plse help are they right or am i beig fobbed off .

rover clutch pedels sit high there will be a fault with clutch hydraulics best to replace master and slave cylinders other causes could be clutch release arm sticking in its bushes or a cluth assembly fault none of these are long jobs for a good garage they wont want to spend money on it try trading standards

tell then, (while they have your car) that u dont want it back, you want your money back !!! they are defonatley toying with u and have sold u a faulty car, and sinse bought from an official dealership all thier cars should be checked for these sort of problems before they are released onto the forecourt, get your money back and get a diffrent car.

the car is not fit for the purpose for which you paid for it. there are two options here, tell them the above and get a full refund, or get them to fix it so that you are satisfied with it. it is not right for clutch pedal to be nearly non exsistent or crunching of gears this is not normal. why change the servo? that assists brake not clutch. it will probably need a clutch master or slave cylinder or both or a new cable fitting. they cant expect to sell a car which is not driveable so soon after you bought it. get this sorted within 30 days. sounds like they dont want to spend money on it. get a second opinion at another garage just get them to feel clutch and see what they say and go back to gararge and ask them what they are going to do.
