The Candy CDC266 has a problem with the heater elements after a fair time of usage. The heater unit is fixed to the back plate behind a cover. When you remove the cover you will see the unit has two thermal switches on top the one on the left is a thermal link the one on the right is a thermal overload. 9 times out of ten the problem is the thermal link [ on left ] over time the soldered link melts and breaks the power to the elements. The bad news is that's the only one that cannot be replaced. To check the thermal link remove one of the terminals test with ohms meter if there's no continuity the link has blown. The cure is a complete unit.
