How can I fix my B.T. Synergy 3505 Cordless Phone?

B.T. Synergy 3505. The message playback does not respond when pressed. I can not retrieve any messages. The messages are recorded but will not play or delete. All other functions are working. Can this problem be fixed.

My Problem is the Answer Machine Volume which over the last 9 months has faded down to a whisper. The external +- Rocker switch makes no difference.

Can this be repaired or have to throw £100 woth of phone into the recycling bin?
