Are you sure the remote is actually working (a lit LED only means that a battery is present).If the alarm isn't responding it probably means thats either the fob is goosed or that it needs programming to the system (which in many types of system requires a security PIN number ??).
Contact Tech-Tronics 0161 869 0050 they'll be able to assist you with getting the fob talking to the alarm again.
