Loud rattle on spin Bosch wff 1202 help?

When on the final spin washing machine makes very loud rattle, thinking it was the drum bearing I removed the spider both bearings apear fine no sign of water damage and are perfectly smooth when turned with a finger. If I replace the belt pully so I can turn the drum then it is still makes a grinding noise from the front of the drum admitedly the machine is face down and if I pull the drum up then it turns freely. Should I bash on and replace the bearing ie is it only broken when under lots of load, or could there be somthing wrong with the drum?

I'd be greatful for any suggestions
