why would a clutch pedal break ?

Cable is intact but pedal snapped at cable connection end (citreon relay). any underlying problems that could cause this ? can't pull cable manualy.

it's the engine earth you need to check-if poor connection this will cause cables etc to become substitute for correct cable!

check the battery earth, if you have a bad earth then, it may try to earth through the clutch cable, which would cause the cable to get very hot & weld its self together, same can happen to accelerator cable.

cable maybe seized putting extra strain on pedal, would replace cable
