how can i fix vw sharan auto gearbox?

lost acceleration in my vw sharan 1.9 tdi automatic driving along the m4 when i pulled onto the hard shoulder the car stalled,do you think this is a problem with a sensor or the gearbox itself

my car is sharan auto 1999 1.9 d pealse can i ask you a question? when i drive my car the automatic gear does not change. The car does not move that well after the gear change.

If you have the older 4 speed box then chances are the lock up valve is stuck in the on position. A modified valve and spring is available. (www.sonnax.com) . Check out www.fedauto.co.uk for local specialist
