My wife has a 2001 BMW 320d and has been told the both front bushings are shot, is it dangerous to drive and how much will it cost to fix, also what is the ASC button for.

If it is your lower arm bushes would advise to get these done ASAP,will alter the handling of the car and maybe cause the car to wander depending on how bad they are, Think ASC is your Automatic Stability Control which will help the car perform better round corners and improve handling.
