I still cant figure out how to get those darn strips off. They wont budge. I tried pushing and pulling. I tried hitting the back end with a mallet, nothing works. Please help, I'm frustrated beyond belief.

There is a small tab on the stips themselves located in the front of the machine, where the track of the trim slides into. If you get a small flatblade screwdriver and push inward (prying the strip away from the body of the canister), you can help the strips come out. Usually it helps a little, if any, but what really brings them out is a hardy yank with a decent pair of pliers.

I have an Electrolux 2100 and need to replace the rocker switch. I opened the machine by first opening the door and removing the bag. Then with the door open slide the side piece that has the electrolux name forward, toward the open door. Do this on both sides. Hope this helps!
