iv got a mk5 golf and the bonnet wont open the cable s not broken but its jammed in the mechanism in bonnet please help !!! how do i open it thanks

Have someone hold the bonnet catch in the release position and push down and pull up on the bonnet at the area where the catch is,lots of bonnet catches stick due to lack of grease,when it dries up or wears off the spring can't pull the catch open.If it does open spray the whole lot with plenty of WD40.Good luck.
