We are experiencing problems with the actual cassette in that the "trap door" does not always open or close. Is this something that can be repaired or can we purchase just that part of the cassette. Is this a common fault or is there something else that we need to perform as we have only used our caravan for the first time, albeit it is only 3 years old.

Try looking at the pdf's [free downloads]for your style toilet if no luck on the fault then on page 3 send Thetford a message see if they give a solution if so it would help to post both your model toilet and what the solution is, it may help someone else.
