the connectoin going into the straighteners?

the thick bit of the wire that is bendy meets the straiteners is making a clicking noise that sounds as if the wires are touching.i dont know how to get the thick bit of the wire out

Carol, it's really easy to replace the cable in your ghd's. It sounds like you need a new cable. You can go on ebay and purchase one for about £3. Then watch the dvd on 'You Tube' it gives you step by step instructions on how to replace the cable.It literally just plugs into the straightener. No wiring is needed. I've just repaired my sisters... GHD were gonna charge her £60!!!
Failing that there is a guy on ebay who charges about £12 and he'll fix them for you. It really is eeeeeeeeasy though. If I can do it.......anyone can!!!
