Intermittent fault; engine management light on , temp gauge makes 3 full sweeps ,then goes off. engine turns over but dosen't start.!! any help out there ???

Im having a similer problem. My glow plug light doesnt come on and the engine wont turn over at all. After jump starting it and driving it a bit it starts fine. Did either of you come up with a solution?

Had exactly same symptoms + glow plug warming light wasnt coming on, and engine would turn over but not start. Moving wiring loom to ecu cured prob, on closer inspection found a break in a wire feeding ecu, crimped it and alls well except dashboard temp gauge now not working correctly!!
Will check damaged connections in the morning
