my driver on my laptop is working but nothing comes up on the screen is my driver in need of an update ? if so how do l do it?

A driver is a piece of software that connects the machine's operating system to a particular peripheral device - screen, disk, keyboard, mouse etc.

If you have no screen display - and you previously did have a screen display - the fault is almost certainly hardware or set-up related rather than driver related.
