I'd take pleasants advice, if you had a chain "pop off " you have no idea how to use a saw safely and are an accident waiting to happen. Get someone in to help you

Jeez. A chainsaw user that has has the chain come off, doesn't know how to re-fit it and obviously doesn't know how to tension it either- otherwise it shouldn't have come off in the first place!

It's only a matter of time before you seriously injure yourself with your serious lack of practical knowledge with this dangerous bit of kit. Do yourself a favour and take some training from someone who knows these machines, ready the manual from cover to cover or better still get someone who knows what they're doing to do the job for you.

Remove the bar nuts and take away the chainbrake cover, loop the chain over the sprocket and into the drive teeth, put the chain drive links into the guide bar rails, assemble the chainbrake back onto the saw, make sure the adjuster pawl sits into the adjuster hole in the bar, re attach the bar nuts loosly and adjust the chain tention, hold the tip of the bar up and tighten the bar nuts. If there is any burrs on the chain drive links they will have to be filed so as the chain runs free in the bar rails.
