its normally plastic thats why full belt kit should be replaced (2 belts) 1 tensioner plastic for outer belt 1 metal tensioner for inner belt (crank to inj pump) good idea to check water pump for play and signs of leaking prior to refitting belts timing pin kit 3 pins 1 locks in crank (above alternator 10mm bolt ) other 2 are 1 in cam and 1 in pump
