ok the best way is this,fit the shaft and put the spring on the lug on the transmission cover then get some bowden cable like brake cable inner and get a length of about 60 cm then tie a knot in the two loose ends so its like a loop then feed the cable under the spring and loop it over the very end of the spring that goes against the kickstart quadrant then pull the cable and force the end of the spring under the quadrant and keep pulling it ,it will pull through and the wire will automatically come off as the spring comes around to where it should rest and tension the spring.hope this makes sense it really easy when you know how and its by far the easiest way take my word it took me years to stumble on the method.:)
