My office chair is leaving black filings from the wheels all over my office mat. It looks really messy, and if I don't wipe it up immediately, the mess spreads. Any way to fix this?

Contact the manufacturer and ask them to send a new bottom. I had the same problem with an ergonomic chair and they told me they had a defective part. Try it, you never know. They may be aware of the problem and willing to fix it. You have nothing to lose except more black filings!
