scantronic 9800 flashing rt fault code ?

very first fault code was b f at 6-30 a.m. replaced with a new battery, 2nd fault code was l t (control panel tamper) friend sugested entering 000 or 999 this could be enginers reset code ? no chance i now have r t fault code ( illegal use of keypad ). i have been in this situation for many weeks now and wondering what to do. can anyone help please

If i remember rt is the tamper button on the keypad. If you cant cure it, put half a red rawl plug under the plastic tamper de-press on the back plate. I think your friend should stop giving you advice.

hi thanks for you initial help i tried as you sugested by entering the correct code this is what happened. Lt is flashing alternatavly with rr for a about 20 secconds then it goes back to rt flashing i did not mention in my first contact that the red fault light and the red service light is on permanentlly and the green power light is on permanentlly what next please ?

If it has been untouched for a reasonable period of time, entering the correct code (carefully) should now clear this display.

If I remember correctly.

It originally appears because the wrong code has been used, so another has been entered, 4 digits then seen as 8, etc etc eventyally the panel decides that someone is trying to find the code and locks up causing your problem.

Above, should, I hope fix it, but you need the CORRECT code
