Toxic fume light and Petrol in water light on Renault Clio 2003?

Hi All,

I have a problem with my 2003 Renault Clio.

The first problem was the water in petrol light came on, i thought that i had pulled some cr*p from the bottom of the tank, so i put some redex in and it seemed to sort it. Then after a week the toxic fume light came on and stayed on for about a week?????? Didn’t know what to do with this? Suddenly both light stopped coming on for a while then they came back with avengance.... causing the car to lose power and run rubbish...

I have had an Auto Electrician out who plugged his computer in to see if there were any problems, it came back with the following, Mass airflow sensor, and throttle pedal-positioning sensor... I then looked under the bonnet and found a Silver ECU box which i believe is the throttle body, i have purchased a second hand one and fitted it but now i cant get the car to start as it is putting the engine immobiliser on and wont deactivate. I then changed back to the previous one and the immobiliser light goes out and the car is back to its previous state, all the lights on.

If any body knows how i can rectify any of the above faults please let me know as i am really stumped, and with out a car.

Not sure why you fitted a different part to the ones that the diagnostic computer called out but either the s/h part is duff or maybe it is 'keyed' to the car as so many electronic components are now.
