What does code "ms" mean on tape?

Employee mis-rung a cash transaction - on detail I see 26.95 rung, the TL for total, customer paid with $100 and instead of being rung as 100.00 CA it says 100.00 MS. Gave correct change & it's in the Z tape. Code not in manual & I can't find what key would do this. Any clues???? My machine is a TEC MA-516, old but still kicking!!

It means Misc Media. The operator has pressed the MISC button to finalise the sale. This button is used to finish a sale using a payment method other than the ones on the keyboard. E.G you could use it if you accept vouchers for payment. It is like a second cash key with a different label.
