tow bar socket electrics iveco daily 35c15?

we have had a towbar fitted to the iveco daily luton van and it has allready got a socket underneath the van from new. but it is not live we did not get the van towbar from the dealers and they are not very helpfull as to why we have no live to the socket can you help

initially i hitched a trailer a number of times without problems , then now there is no power on the socket fitting of the van. I have checked the fuse boxes and its ok you mentioned control unit what is inside it ? is it fuses or relays ?

control unit is mounted behind front grill at n/s headlight area
