Hotpoint first edition wm11?

The machine seems to wash the clothes but doesnt automatically go into spin cycle you have to put it into that cycle. Any ideas on whats wrong?

thanks i will have a look. I have a rinse hold button but the light isnt on. I will try another setting and see what happens

you may be using a rinse hold programme(unknowingly) this stops with the clothes in water until the operator advances the programme dial to a drain/spin point.
(try a different programme setting /number )
