Update - XM6 Alarm Panel Not Responding?

Hi again.... further to my previous post...
Having dismantled the panel, I have found a burned out resistor on the circuit board, behind the key pad. There also appears to be some scorching of each of the keypad ribbon connectors where they connect to the socket, although they are intact. Both fuses are OK but there is no charging current for thr battery, which sort of explains the system failure. I seem to recall that this is a fairly common issue on this unit. But can it be repaired? Are there any spares still to be had? Honeywell don't want to talk to end users and recommend bringing in an expert to replace the whole lot, but that would be my last ressort. Any suggestions on where I might find original replacements or a suitable alternative panel which I could fit myself?

Many thanks,

Peter

I solved the problem by replacing the entire panel with the newer Gen4 version. It's quite a bit smaller and the circuit board has more connections, but I transferred all wihout a hitch. The battery compartment is smaller, so another new & smaller battery had o be purchased.
