Potterton profile 60e not firing-up?

my potterton profile 60e has been struggling to fire-up from cold. fan ran for short time and stopped. Eventually, the fan continued long enough for the boiler to fire-up ( ater about 7 attempts ). However, now there is only a humming sound & no fan running.
Does this indicate a fautly Air pressure switch or fan problem.
Also, is the fan motor itself a replacement component or do you have to replace the whole fan assembly. Boiler was new in 1994.
Any thoughts or experience welcome.

Try a squirt of WD40 on the fan bearings - "humming" may mean a stalled fan- motor windings OK but bearings gummed up.

As far as I know it is not possible to replace just the fan motor.

If the fan is not running then the air pressure switch does not operate - you can therefore discount any air pressure switch problems until the fan is working correctly.

I am not qualified or experienced with respect to boilers - my advice is next to worthless - Gas Safe Engineers sneer at me and call me an unqualified muppet - take my advice with caution.
