i changed the battery on the megan 1.6 petrol 1996 and now the car wont start

i dont know about renaults, but other french cars have a procedure to follow when replacing battery, if this is not followed, then a lot of data is lost including the immobiliser coding. may neeed to go to main dealers to re input this information on your cars computers.
