How do i remove the drive shaft from my mculloch 550 hedgetrimer?

How do i remove the drive shaft from my Mculloch 550 hedge trimer .The teeth are gone and i need to replace it . Not sure how it comes out .Thank you .

The drive gear is threaded into the clutch drum, you need to hold the drum ( without damageing it ) and turn thr the gear, fairly sure its a standard right hand thread
