The ice flap trigger mechanism on the freezer door appears to be broken. When you place a glass against the trigger it does no open the flap, as normal, to allow the ice down the shute. From what I can see the linkage between the trigger switch on the door and the internal ice flap, which seals the ice shute, is either disconnected or broken. How do I gain access to the mechansim to repair or replace these components, do I remove the temperature control panel and are there srews holding it in place?

You need to lever the front panel (frame of the controls etc) it is pretty tough but does clip off.
