Oven blew house fuses and now does not work?

Hi folks,

I have a belling countryrange charcoal 100df and something went wrong with it yesterday. Today the fans work but there is no heat.

Help would be good as it will probably cost a leg to get someone out for it.

Thanks all.

It sounds like your heating element has shorted out and become open circuit. It needs to be replaced. Switch off the power to the cooker at the fuseboard. Carefully pull the cooker forward, so you can get access to the back panel screws, be careful not to pull the gas pipe too far. Remove the back panel , which will expose the element terminals. Carefully pull off the spade terminals and wrap with some insulating tape. Remove the 2 nuts, 1 either side of the terminals. From the front of the oven remove the 2/3 screws that hold the element in place, remove the element . On the reverse side of the terminals the part no. and manufacturer details will be stamped into the metal. With the spade terminals safely insulated you can use the rest of your cooker ,until you get your replacement element. Use the reverse sequence to replace the new element. And dont forget to let the element burn off for about 10/15minutes before first use.
