Oven igniter keeps firing all the time the oven is on. Why?

I have a Cannon Gas cooker and every time I put the oven on the igniter keeps firing. Whats happening. What parts may be involved? What am I most likely to have to replace. Any help would be great thanks.

the spark elctrode needs to be in the flame to stop sparking, do not bend electrode as it will likely break. poss burner blocked with cooking debris causing flame to be too small at electrode.
