Roof sensor on Peuget 206 cc?

My daughters car roof stopped working electronically some time ago and we believe that it is down to the microsensor that ensures the boot cover (the sheet that ensures the boot is not over full) is drawn accross. Is ther a way to prove that this is the offending part? how easy is it to replace and lastly is it true that once the roof has been folded manually the whole hydraulic system needs refilling?

Hi just had same problem and had to manually close roof the alarm wouldn't stop so my brother has overridden the micro switch by looping the wiring and all's well roof works and no alarm but don't forget to lay items down in boot as blind no longer necessary I will be buying new switch for safety reasons and all because he silicones the roof to stop it squeaking the roof doesn't like being stopped mid flow.

You could remove the electrical connector to the microswitch and bridge the contacts to make the circuit. That way the car will "think" the blind is closed.

If the microswitch is faulty and that is the only fault, then the roof should now work. If the microswitch was faulty get a new one from Peugeot and replace it.

If you have operated the roof manually then you have probably released the hydraulic pressure in the system by using the allen key as instructed in the owners manual. You will need to tighten that back up. You shouldn't need to refill the fluid. All the fluid should still be in the system.

Check through the posts in the roof section of the Peugeot 206cc Owners' Forum for more help.
